Tonia Bloom
You only need five ingredients to make this quick and easy side dish. I usually make a double batch of the recipe and freeze half for another meal.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Wide Egg Noodles
  • ¼ cup Spreadable Butter with Oil such as Land O Lakes®
  • ½ cup Half and Half
  • ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese grated or finely shredded
  • ½ (.7-ounce) package or about 1 tablespoon Italian Dressing Mix

Instructions

  • Cook the noodles, without salt or oil, half the time recommended on the package. Drain. Put drained noodles in a medium bowl and stir in the butter until melted. Add the half and half, Parmesan, and dressing mix. Stir to combine.
To Serve Now: Cook the noodles the full time recommended on the package.
  • Put the noodle mixture in an airtight, microwave, and freezer-safe container. Label and date. Freeze for up to 2 months. Makes about 4½ cups.
Reheat in the microwave from the freezer for 5-7 minutes; or from thawed for 3-5 minutes. Stir and serve.

Notes

Nutritional Information is based on these Food Brands:
Egg Noodles - Extra wide or wide noodles work the best.  Sodium and cholesterol will vary depending on the Brand you choose.  I used No Yokes®, which does not have any cholesterol.
Buttery Spread - My "go to" is Land O Lakes® Spreadable Butter with Oil because it is all natural ingredients and it has a better "butter" taste.  Saturated Fat, Cholesterol, and Sodium will vary depending on what you use.
Half and Half - Only use regular half and half.  The Fat Free versions do not work.
Parmesan Cheese - Only use the kind of cheese you have to grate if you want a creamy sauce.  Packaged cheese has fillers and doesn't melt very well.  Brand doesn't matter as far as Nutritional info.
Italian Dressing Mix - I like Simply Organic® because it is the lowest Sodium I've found so far.  It's about half of amount of Good Seasons.  I know Good Seasons is in pretty much every grocery store and it works just as well.
