  • Combine onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  • In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef and ground chuck. Form into 6 patties, about 4-5 inches wide. Sprinkle both sides with the seasoning mixture.
  • Grill burgers 3 minutes per side. Top each with a slice of cheese for the last minute of cooking. Place 2 tablespoons of green chilies on top of the burgers and serve.

Notes

You can use whole green chiles instead of the diced ones.  Place chiles on a paper towel to drain and keep from making the bun soggy.
